ATHENS 2004

Slovak Republic was represented by 11 sportsmen from SŠŠR MV SR at XXVIII summer Olympic Games. The games took place from September 13 to 29, 2004 in Athens and they were definitely more successful than the previous ones, not only from the point of view of our centre, but of that of the whole Slovak delegation too.

Our most successful sportsmen were water slalom racers, especially brothers Hochschorner, thanks to having defended their gold medal. But the bronze of our four-kayak on 1000 m and the fifth place of Marcela Erbanova on 500 m in flat water canoeing is with no doubt a big success too. Matej Meszáros was a nice surprise in shooting sport, when he had missed the finals in 10 m air rifle just because of the worse lay out of his shots.
