The National Sports Representation Centre of Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic (further SŠŠR MV SR) was founded on the base of Resolution of Government of Slovak Republic number 197/1993 of July 1, 1993. It is a budgetary organisation with an independent legal subjectivity.

The Centre of Top-performance Sport, directed from the centre in Prague within former Czechoslovakia preceded our centre.

Its main task at present is to realize the preparation of sportsmen for the national representation of Slovakia and the ŠKP (Police Sports Clubs) of which they are the members.

The organizational structure of SŠŠR MV SR is created by sections, directed by their leaders. Superior to them is the Director himself who is the statutory representative of our centre. Sections: Armed Sports (shooting sport), Centre of Youth (boxing,  fencing, figure skating, flat water canoeing,  handball, volleyball, water slalom), Collective and Other Sports (body building, boxing, water slalom), Water Sports (flat water canoeing), Winter Sports (cross-country skiing, luge, snowboarding, speed skating), Organising-methodical and Health Care Section. More details on our staff in all sections are in contacts.

Sportsmen are integrated into our centre on the base of an internal regulation, with regard to the opinion of Ministry of Education and respective national federation. Sportsmen may have the statute of the "top-performance" sportsmen, or "ensured" sportsmen. In the first case, the sportsman becomes our employee too.
